Helllooooo

I have palyed around with auto electrics for years :)

But these are my questions.

Yes you can buy a "Plag and Play" lead for fitting the MFD, BUT

How do you connect it to the Instrument panel ?? Just run the wires as dicribed in Ford TIS ?? do you then require Vag Com programming to allow the Sat Nav instructions to be shown in the display between the Dials ??

TIS discribes a Dynamic Navigation Timer !!!! what the feck is that ???

Can you add multi function wheel easly ?? or is it a pain in the bot ??

Thanks in advance

Hi

Most of this has been covered before mate, I think Bleeno has put a link in your introduction thread with some good info in it.

In general, IIRC, multifunction wheel is a pain in the rectum & new instrument cluster required to get the directions coming up in the middle as the standard one doesn't have this functionality.

Hit the search button and search for MFD. (with the full stop as you need 4 characters for a valid search) and all should be revealed.

Hello m8

Emmm, that was my quess on the wheel

Will search again, is the display different in the clocks ?? I have gone though Micro*** and cant find a part number for a SAT NAV enabled set of clocks ??

Thanks

P.S have fitted some stuff in Audi's before and have used that web site and this one http://www.nsxjr.com has some whicked downloadable guides, BUT none cover Sharans

Have a nose around :16:

Look like there is a differnet det of clocks for sat nav use, ie bigger/full display.

My question is this

a vw install says use a TMC CAN gateway box !!! Ford never fitted this. Also TIS show 3 wires running to the dash clocks, These are NOT CAN Bus wires so the plot thinkens.

Anyone got any pics of a Factory fit sat nav dash, or anyone ever swap there dash for a Full diaplay (also called a FIS)

Oh bugger !!!

After getting my friendly ford parts bloke to do some checking !!!!

A 2.3 Std Ghia comes with a " Mid Line" Dash board.

A 2.3 with Sat Nav (display) come with a "High Level" dash.

Difference

Pay your money and have it, or

Don't pay your money and don't have it :)

Wot the diff is, the panel above the red pixel panel in a STD car has lamps, in a Sat Nav no lamps just a bigger panel and the message like low oil are shown in Picture form

Ford dont use the CAN BUS to update the central display in the dash clocks !!!!

a simple cable is used !!! green 6 pin plug one end (MFD) and a red 20ish plug for clocks

Simple as that !!!

So question on the back of a Galaxy set of clock how many sockets are there ??

should b 2 BUT is there a third not used ???

Dont want to take my clocks out just yet, god bless wife

any help out there ??
